BEGANTO EXPANDS DESIGN WIN MANAGEMENT CAPABILITIES WITH ACQUISITION OF ALATRON SOFTWARE CORPORATION

Beganto, Inc. (www.beganto.com), Fremont, California, has completed its acquisition of Alatron Software Corporation of Puyallup, Washington and its proprietary software suite for sample management and design win tracking. Incorporating the Alatron Need-A-Sample® technology enhances Beganto’s own sophisticated web-based system for selecting, sourcing, and tracking products through the supply chain.

The Alatron offices and employees will be part of the Beganto team, according to Beganto co-founder and CEO Sunil Grover, bringing with them all their software, intellectual property and customers (who include such companies as Catalyst Semiconductor, Hirose Electric USA, NEC Electronics America, United Chemi-Con, ElectroCube, JAE and others). Warren Stokes, Alatron CEO, becomes Beganto’s Vice President, Product Management. The Alatron name will be phased out, but the company’s website at www.needasample.com will continue serving engineers as part of Beganto’s BeON™ program (Beganto Open Network). Alatron, organized in 1999, has been serving over 9,000 engineers at over 5,000 OEMs, along with some 1250 manufacturers’ representative field sales personnel, and has successfully tracked over 800 design wins!

The Alatron software is a natural complement to Beganto’s market-sensitive solutions that speed product search and the delivery of product data, create and protect design wins, and track sales globally for the electronic components industry. Beganto solutions are compatible with industry standards set by NEDA, ERA and Rosetta Net.

Using the BeON™ program is free to engineers, buyers, distributors and reps. The business model is supported by fees from manufacturers who want to track their global sales, but the product search database will not be restricted to supporting manufacturers.

Complete information about BeON™ , Need-A-Sample®; , and Beganto will be available May 3-5 at the Electronic Distribution Show and Conference (EDS) in Booth 4712-14, or at www.beganto.com. Printed literature is available on request from Beganto, Inc., 4800 Patrick Henry Drive,Santa Clara, CA 95054, USA,Phone: 510-315-1278, Fax: 408-492-1772, email: info (at) beganto.com
